Applegate Country Boarding Kennels
Established in 1973, Applegate Kennels was built by the Ross Bower family with the help of a local contractor. At that time the Bowers already had extensive experience in dogs, showing Scotties, Cairns, West Highland White Terriers and Skye Terriers as well as caring for dogs belonging to other than family members.
The kennel was designed by Ross Bower incorporating all the features that are important for the comfort of our canine guests as well as sanitary provisions which enable the kennel runs to be quickly and thoroughly cleaned daily.
There are 20 individual, concrete surfaced indoor-connecting-to-outdoor runs, with dividers between each run approximately 5' high for the prevention of possible fence fighting. Each run is 4'x 6' inside and 4' x 16' outside for a total area of 4 x 22'. The inside runs are heated and cooled, the outside runs are roofed with shady and sunny areas inside each outdoor run.
Our employees came to us mainly from Guide Paws For The Blind and are experienced in the care of dogs. We handle every one of our guests at least twice daily, we will walk dogs, give veterinarian prescribed medications including injections, we are recommended by and work with local veterinarians, and we have an established reputation for giving superior, loving care. We love what we do! Grooming by Susan at very reasonable prices is also available.
If you would like to see our kennels, please feel free to come for a visit during our hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday except for Wednesday afternoon when we are closed. If you have questions, please contact us by phone 541-479-0509, fax 541-471-7126, or E-mail applegateboarding@ilgp.net.
